How much value do think this RS would lose in 2 years time

Then you buy the extended warranty once the current warranty period ends. Simples.

We’ve just extended the warranty on a TT. 1 year for £290 - it seems like a bargain to me considering the car has the dsg auto gearbox.

This all depends on what the extended warranty covers and how much it costs. Skoda for example take the **** a bit as extending the warranty can cost about £750 for a vRS (despite barely anything in it being particularly special as far as the VW group goes) and it covers significantly less than the manufacturer backed extension if ordered with the vehicle new. You'd want to be 100% sure that particular issue was covered.

What about when the warranty runs out ? as that RS most likely only has about 18months of the Ford warranty left on it...
As a lot of people did not pay the extra for the extended 5 year ford warranty

Fairly sure a vehicle defect like this isn't done under the warranty at all. Recalls can come about at any age.

Looks like that RS has been sold as it not at the garage anymore....

Another will most likely come up for sale within the next 6 months or so
