This all depends on what the extended warranty covers and how much it costs. Skoda for example take the **** a bit as extending the warranty can cost about £750 for a vRS (despite barely anything in it being particularly special as far as the VW group goes) and it covers significantly less than the manufacturer backed extension if ordered with the vehicle new. You'd want to be 100% sure that particular issue was covered.Then you buy the extended warranty once the current warranty period ends. Simples.
We’ve just extended the warranty on a TT. 1 year for £290 - it seems like a bargain to me considering the car has the dsg auto gearbox.
