How often do you re-gas your air conditioning?

The pusher fan shouldn't be making that much of a noise that you can notice it..

It doesn't make a racket but you can hear when it kicks in. Always have been able to on two different 530i's and mine is on its second pusher fan - could tell with the old one and the new one the day after BMW fitted it, too. It's pretty well known that the E39 pusher fan is not as silent as perhaps it ought be.

Serviced mine once in 5 years, no need other than i wanted to do it.

Climate control set to 18deg, let the car figure it out.

Never understood people with CC who turn the AC off, it hardly makes any difference to the MPG and makes the cabin a much nicer place to be.

It was 23c outside today and the car was roasting when I got in. It took a minute or so for the air from the vent to be noticeably cold and then about 5 minutes before the car felt cool. After that, it was absolutely lovely for the rest of the journey.

Bloody lovely weather today though.

Never turned it on in neither of my cars...

What is wrong with you man??

I'm driving a works van at the moment and today the single thing I miss most from my own car was the AC, how people can have it and never use it baffles me :p

I was absolutely sweltering today and windows down was achieving nothing but making a racket!

Need to regas my new car as there's no chilling at all but all my previous cars have been fine and never had to regas, all about the frequent use and lubing up.

I'd have mine on all the time but typically being a Peugeot 306 the air conditioning was broke as soon as the car left the factory, so I'm left with having the windows down.

I know my dad runs the air conditioning in his Skoda all the time and it's never been regassed in its ten year life, still works faultlessly.

Where's the best place to get it re-gassed? Mine needs doing and the window rattle drives me mad :p

Can a place like Quick-Fit be trusted? Or am I better off at a backstreet specialist? Or even the main dealer?

I'd say if it takes a minute for the air to feel cold then it could use a service, that's a long time, mine comes through icy cold within maybe 5 seconds.

I think mine needs doing on my old e46.

It wont blow cold air anymore. Today was the first time I really needed it in a while and the drive home was horrible spending 30 mins in traffic.

Roughly how much should this cost to get done?
