How on earth is circumcision legal?

Yes it is, same with the Jewish religion. It's requirement because it's more hygienic. Not sure if the same applies to Jews. However, they say a lot of sensitivity is lost if your're circumcised. I wouldn't know as I've never had sex.
 
I think Britain is fairly unique in that we don't generally circumsize male babies. I heard in America it's quite common because it is perceived to be more hygienic and if you're going to get it done it's better to do it as a baby because when you grow up your knob is a hell of a lot more sensitive.
 
If someone chooses to be circumcised when they're capable of deciding for themselves, then that's fair enough. But to circumcise young babies when they have no choice, that's despicable unless it's for medical reasons.
