Been organising my gf's 30th birthday for the past 3 months, wanted it to be flawless and part of it was a surprise limo turning up to take us and friends to the restaurant we're going to. I had to tell her best friend about the arrangements as a few are coming from her house so she needed to know about the limo arrival times etc. They both went out on Saturday for shopping, her best friend got absolutely smashed and ended up telling my gf about the limo surprise...

I found this out by talking to her best friend who claimed on the phone to me that "my gf thinks more than just a taxi is turning up to pick us up, maybe its a limo" where actually, she knows its a limo because she told her! I ended up saying to her best friend that I haven't given any clues away towards the limo so hopefully it is a surprise and she said that it will be and she'll love it... My gf then confessed to me yesterday that she leaked it out on the Saturday but didnt want to tell me straight away because she felt bad for me and told me to promise to her that I say nothing to her best friend.

Promised to my gf not to say anything to her best friend but I want to go spastic at her! Really gutted and feels like it has taken the edge out of the entire occasion, even though i have more surprises in line for her.

Worriyng thing is, I told her best friend I'm proposing to her on holiday next week... now I'm worried that has been leaked to!

How selfish can someone be? especially a best friend... have shot of her I say!

Rant over.

Yeh it will just ruin the day even more if you go ape, just don't trust the best friend with secrets any more, and hope she doesn't blab about the proposal!

Lesson learned, you can't trust the best friend with anything. Sad it had to happen like this but hey.

As above, if you want to keep the surprise then reshuffle the dates. Use the best friend as a decoy, fill her up with useless information then send her on a drinking spree with your Mrs. :)

In my experience women can never hold their tongue on things like this, but the best thing you can do is forget about it and continue with your plans as they are.

If you discover she leaked the planned proposal then that probably gives you licence to take a contract out on her tbh.

Lesson learned, but dont let it spoil her birthday, and good luck with the proposal, if you go ape at the friend how likely is she to say yes?

Oh dear.

Not ideal, carry on as you planned and make the best of it.

Women are stupid though, throw rocks at them.

indeed lol, i suggest you go on holiday and dont say anything and just be on one knee doing your laces up or on one knee looking in the suitcase and if she goes crazy every time well :d win win sitch.
