Right I have been regraded since yesterday morning. My router has been synced at a constant 8128/448 and it hasn't dropped at all so far.

I know nothing about all this to be honest so was wondering what you guys think my download speed will be like. Obviously at the moment I am suffering from the 2mb cap but hopefully that will be gone in a day or two. :)

SNR Margin - Down: 12 Up: 27
Attenuation - Down: 34 Up: 20

Any thoughts? Is it looking good or bad?

Downstream isn't great, should be good for about 3.5 or 4 meg ish.

Attenuation isn't too bad so it shouldn't nose dive your SNR too easily.

Doh! Thanks for the info mate. I hope you're incorrect though. BT estimated my line at 6.5. :(

EDIT: Obviously the above figures for SNR and Atten. are since being regraded. Before I was regraded my SNR was much higher, in the 20's-30's I think... If that makes any difference.

sorry i didn't read that properly. I thought those stats were pre upgrade.
at 8meg sync 12 down is good, you'll be seeing about 6 meg for sure.

My fault, I should have made it clearer.

At 12dB SNR I wouldn't be surprised if he never syncs at anything but 8meg.

Well you'd expect that, but i don't like getting people's hopes up :p

Too late... It's done. :p

Now just to wait for this stupid 2mb cap to lift!

I take it there's nothing I can do to speed up the process? I turned off my router during the regrade in the hopes that I wouldn't be stung... But alas.

My cap was lifted by yesterday evening after being regraded at about 5:30am (according to router logs)

Modem was on through the regrade but I turned it off for 30min when I got up - not sure if that changed it at all.

Sounds like it's totally random then... I would try turning off my router for 30 mins or so but I don't know if this would effect the whole speed stablising thing. Like I said I don't know much about how all this works to be honest, but since I have been synced constantly without any drops at 8meg I wouldn't like to chance it. Unless I am completely misunderstanding of course. :)

I'd just leave it as it is to be honest; let it do it's thing.

If you keep rebooting the router it could pick it up as a line fault and try and limit the sync rate, but I'm not sure what the tolerance levels for this are.

Yep I will do matey. Just getting itchy to see those >2mb downloads. :)

cool. mine is 12.9db so i should be good. :p

i'm in the same boat as gordy. been stuck at 2mb throughput even though i'm synched at 8mb. i have tried turning my router off for an hour but it has made no difference. i found this thread and it would seem i'm stuck with 2mb for 3 days before any chance of it changing. :)
