Curious how big they are compared to E39's (the 5-series before the current one)? I am quite tall (waaay over 6ft)and someone said to me a while back they have looooads of legroom because the front seat goes a long way back practically to the back seats?.

Anyone know? perhaps who has one?

The front seats do go back a long way, seat level would be quite correct! they also go up and down by a large degree so shorties as well as tallies can feel comfy in their correct driving position though I find myself liking height position "0" as I'm used to my old Honda still which sat very low and close to the ground.

Loooaaads of legroom in the front. Not such much in the back.

Warning: this comment was posted by someone who is 5ft nothing, so take it with a pinch of salt. :p

Im 6'2" and the front legroom is adequate, I tend to drive quite upright and I think I have the seat about one step forward from the furthest-back position. In the back the legroom is ok, but not great. :)

The 3 Series is quite cosey compared to the 5 Series - the rear space isn't all that great (But if your passengers are THAT concerned ask them to pay for the car!), the space in the front is fine but it is rather enclosed and cosey.

i am 6ft 3in and BMW's always seem to be the best for front legroom. But i find getting the seat low is far more important than getting it far back.
