2 years ago i had an audigy 2 ZS which one day died (or so i thought) reinstalling windows, different drivers, different headphones etc didnt fix it...so i chucked in a box

now 2 years on ive just been hunting for something and found it again, thought id try it and hey presto it worksa treat, maybe it wasnt a hardware fault afterall

very strange though

can anyone recommend an amp for under £100?

Always a bonus when something like that happens

As for the AMP a well known budget hifi store has the Cambridge Audio A5 (silver) for £99.99. It won What Hi-Fi?'s best amp under £200 award

funny you should mention that amp in particular, i was out in cheltenham today and found a richer sounds store, bought that very one for £120, pitty i didnt save myself £20 and buy it off the web but you know what its like when its there infront of you

only problem though is that theres no phono (the fat one) for me to plug my headphones into, unless theres some other way of plugging my headphones directly into this

think i need something like this but with the fat one going inwards instead:

So the A5 is better than the Azur 340A?

also RS price match their web site so you could probably go back to the store and get £20 back.
