Hello all i got this system from oc
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-051-OK&groupid=43&catid=967&subcat=

However i have problems with Vista 64bit Ultimate and a lot of my old software and Saitek X52 joystick. i use the pc for flightsim both fs9 and the new fsx. Downloading the new beta drivers and sst software for the X52 would not cure the problems and the forum is not good to say the least.

Now what i wish to do is add my old HDD with XP on it with all my software working. is it just a case of installing it and selecting the drive as the first boot drive from within the BIOS? then updating the Nvidia drivers. Sry if this sounds like a noob Q.

I know XP won't see all the 4GB ram upgrade but i can live with this.

I think as long as you set the drive to master, and make it the first boot device, it should work.

But with complete new hardware configs, its normally advisable to do a fresh install.

It's recommended to do a fresh install if you change your mobo but you could try just removing the drivers with driver cleaner pro and then reinstalling the new ones. Worth a crack :)
