Probably a really basic question. I want to extend my existing wifi via a wired point. i.e plug a device into my LAN and seamlessly extend the already existing wifi. How do I achieve this?
You attach something called an Access Point onto the end of the Ethernet cable you’ve run from your router. Set the SSID and password to be the same as your router’s WiFi and it’s done.
It's going to depend on how 'seamless' it needs to be.
If you add an access point it's effectively a seperate network (even if it has the same name). It's then down to the individual devices and how they handle roaming between the two networks.
