Hey folks,
So ages ago, I posted about leaving my job, bla bla bla, went back in Feb as i'd made a mistake leaving etc.
Anyway, there is a restructure and we have pretty much all been made redundant...
A new role was offered, 1 per region (31 regions) and out of 40 people applying, only 8 got the roles in the WHOLE of the UK!
Now, apart from blatantly being fixed (the people who got the roles conveniently already did a trial of the job, OR knew someone etc).
We went through a series of meetings leading up to the 'assessment' which outlines our options, such as redundancy (not applicable to me, as I had only just come back, so I lost 6 years worth of service!
)redeployment within the parent company, or the new role.
Anyway, they said redundancy is their last option for people, as they dont want etc etc
Well I found out last Friday having travelled back to London, that I was unsuccesful for the new role, due to not being 'challenging enough' or 'challenging the manager in the role play'
Now, asides from the fact, that is what TRAINING would be for...?! Hence the new job having a month training etc, I felt that unfair on me, and I certainly do think it was fixed (our region has not been filled now, as out of 5 of us, none of us got the job!)
So I was told, my end date is the 25th May! Which would have been 2 weeks from the Friday they said I was unsuccessful... My colleagues are 2 weeks after that, with a redundancy payment unlike me
as would I have been had I not left and came back 3 months later.
What Im getting at, is, they said they would HELP us get another job, but they have done sod all, they gave us a website to go to! Which had no vacancies! And they have literally washed their hands since, apart from saying we can take time out of work as long as we let them know, to go to interviews or agencies!!!
They have handled the whole thing terribly.
2 Weeks is hardly enough time is it!?
Is there a way to approach my personnel (over the phone as no way of seeing them!) manager and ask for 2 weeks more, to leave with the others, and explain that its been unfair on me, as I will literally just be dropped without a job, and without a realistic chance of getting one, considering it was a Friday afternoon I was told I didnt have the job, and so really last Monday was the time I could start looking for jobs.
Any ideas? Is it even worth it or will I just get fobbed off?
