Hi, I have been struggling with this for about a month and have watched many videos and tutorials about how to do it, but when I try it it does not work.
I use fraps to record, and have tried many different rendering settings, and I'm getting a little fed up.
If anyone could give any advice or tips it would be greatly appropriated, thanks.

What have you tried and what doesn't work?
I use the HDV 720p 30fps template and render it as Sony AVC. This is using actual video though, not fraps recordings.

Different resolutions in game and different resolutions in the rendering, different qualities and basically whatever I try just makes it with borders all around and it looks really weird quality like it has the detail but it's really grainy

you just select the right template size and import your fraps content - job done? right...iv never had a problem with vegas.

unless your fraps settings are incorrect? not recording in half size res or anything>

What do you mean you use the actual video? What do you use to record then?

I mean video from camera/camcorder. So I have no converting resolution as input is 720p and I output to 720p.

When you go to Properties, what are the settings? And what format are you saving to?

Take a print screen of it if that's easier.
