Say that you only wish to work with them and not socialise. That you have to be around them more than you would like anyway and that you would rather carve your eyes out with a spoon than spend one more minute with any of them

Depends on situation, tools at hand, etc.

But in a desperate situation: Carry a drink with you that's in something very spillable (tea cup on saucer, etc, not those cups with lids). Make sure it's not pipping hot, too full, or with too much content that's hard to remove. As you walk into the room, knock into something, spill onto yourself, walk out. Done.

Tell them you had a bad experience there one time, said in a vague, weary kind of way.

That would be my plan. Or let on that there was blood everywhere.

How many is in your team? If there's like 30+ they probably wouldn't even notice you not there.

Even 20+ and I think that would be enough for poeple not to think "where is easyrider?"
