How to get pictures from old windows hard drive to new mbp??

Hello,

I hope this in the right area it was either hard drives or here.

Anyway my girlfriends old windows laptop has just died and we've got a new mbp with the ssd drive fitted on the way.

Something has gone on the old laptop, I think it's the graphics side of things as the screens gone really funny.

How would I get some pictures off the hard drive to put them on the new one.

My first try is going to hooking the laptop up to a tv and see if I can use it that way and burn them to disk.

If that fails what's the alternative please?

Alternative is to remove the drive and buy a HDD dock. Or plug it into another desktop system (anything with a free SATA port).

Hard drive caddy's are really cheap, you can get them for under a tenner and are easy to fit and use.

Maybe try outputting to an external monitor if you have one (unless the GC is really goosed), usually Fn + F5. Should be fine for shifting files.
