how to get sound over HDMI in xp?

recently brought a acer revo and done a clean install of xp on it, i know the video over hdmi is working, but i cant seem to get sound out of it (over hdmi).

all drivers have been installed as there is nothing weird in device manager.

any settings i need to know about go get it to work? im plugging it into a panasonic g10.

Have you checked the sound section of control panel to make sure the correct audio devices are selected?

you legend that was it, needed to change it to the nvidia option from the realtek one and it worked!
