How to insert a timestamp in a JPG from the EXIF data?

Does anyone know of a program (ideally free) that can do this?

It's funny, because I use this sort of thing all the time at work with scientific TIFF files, but I have no idea how to do it with a JPG and EXIF data

So take the timestamp out of the EXIF and add it so that it's visible on the image itself?
