How to network an XP PC to a Vista one

I'm trying to connect a 32bit XP PC to a 64bit Vista one. Both are connceted through patch cables to the same router.

This worked fine when both PCs were XP but now I can't seem to work out how to do it in Vista. Anyone have any ideas how to help?
