hey guys,

I've just built myself a new rig a few days ago and i'm having two problems:

1) My scores for Heaven seem to be about 5-10% lower than everyone elses on here for similar clock speeds: Cpu is i5 3750 @ 3.4/ 8GB ram / Win7 64Bit SP1

Stock ASUS 7850 (870 Clock) 1080p

Score 986
Min 20.9
Max 82.2
Avg 39.2

OC 1100Mhz/5400

FPS:
47.9
Scores:
1205
Min FPS:
24.7
Max FPS:
101.5

these seem a little low but i'm not sure what else to do. running catalyst 12.4

2) under asus GPU tweak I can extend my clock speeds up over 1050 but the voltage won't go over 1.165v max at the end of the slider so i'm stuck at 1100 otherwise crash city :| any ideas how to fix this ?

for those of you running the sapphire OC edition 1200/1450 @ 1.176...i had my first crash today in BF3. i reverted to 1.18v and it then ran Heaven fine for an hour straight (with 1.176 i only tested for 30 minutes). anyone else had this issue? for those of you running at 1.176, you may want to bump it up a bit...

Yeh, My sapphire Non-OC ran ok for a bit at 1.16 but after a while I was getting crashes, bumped it up to 1.185 and now it's fine.

I had to knock my memory down 25mhz yesterday to 1475 as after playing games for a couple of hours I got a grey screen :(

Have you tried using sapphire trixx?

I have the exact same card and in the asus software it maxed out @ 1.165v. With trixx it goes all the way upto around 1.3v i think possibly more.
You will have to disable ULPS though i think.
Might be worth a shot. oh and also i would remove the amd software or "ccc" if you have it installed. It can also cause problems.

Just finished replacing the Asus DC2 Cooler with the Accelero 7970.

My load temp dropped by ~25°C, i'm now maxing out at ~60°C (Heaven&Furmark)

I guess there was something wrong with the installation of the DC2, maybe not enough pressure or whatever. So glad i made that purchase, the noise is much much lower as well. Great cooler!!

Just unlocked my voltages with the asus bios

Can now loop heaven with 1200 / 1500. That's +50 core increase on my card alone.

Still testing now to see how high it can go.

Could you take a picture for us? I'd love to see what that cooler looks like on the 7850's PCB :).

If anyone else is having problems with sniper elite v2 with random crashes and gpu usage spikes, you need to downclock your cards.

assign the new clocks to a different profile to run that game alone.

I'll edit my post and post my values once I've found a clock speed that it's happy with.

GPU
1140

Voltage
1105

Mem CLock
5750

I'm glad that worked out for you. :)

I got mine to 1240mhz stable on the core. It can do 1300mhz in Heaven but it's not stable in games at that speed.

Every GPU is different. Although Sapphire might have hand picked the most stable chips for the OC edition, some people won't need voltages that high, and some people will need higher.

actually a lot of people with the sapphire are reaching that exact voltage/speed, so it seems all their chips really are the same, or close to. hence why i posted this...1.18v may be more stable than 1.176.

Any reason why Asus Tweak or Trixx only allows me up to 1.225V on my Frozr 3? Seen others closer to 1.3V although i dont really want to go much more than 1.25V? Clocks are at 1190MHZ on the GPU and 5Ghz on the ram.

I think there's a post a few pages back that shows a post from sapphire saying to max safe voltage is 1.25 so I'm guessing that why there OC tools stops there.

I have a sapphire non oc one and I need 1.205V at least to get 1200 MHz stable. That's with the side panel off and the fan at 100%. With the side panel on I can't reach 1200 at all.
