I'm looking at starting up a taxi service for a friends travel agency so we off the transfer service as part of the booking procedure but I dont really know where to start to get it setup, can anyone help?

I already own my own I.T. Business and now have a percentage in this travel agency so I have a registered business / VAT etc setup.

thanks

I think you have to past a 'driving' test with the council to get your badge and your car has to pass something similar to an M.O.T. but with the council.

so everyone here is under 10 and racist then?

anyone got any sensible answers, such as any idea who I contact to get the appropriate paper work? (someone did mention council) Is there any type of training required for a private business taxi'ing not hackney street by street style?

You wanted sensible answers? Wrong forum...

It's not like Google doesn't know the wnswer to your question anyway.

FAIL ... OCUK forums is a community where people ask for help and advice, sometimes.. no most of the time it usually cuts down on the amount of googling and web searching we have to do. There are a lot of people who are willing to help, but I guess there are the exceptions

No I didn't "FAIL" thanks, I'm simply telling you the easiest way to find out is to use Google. There are plenty of people out there who have had the exact same experience and will list what to do, the chances fo finding someone on this forum with experience, although possible, are a lot slimmer than finding someone by searching through Google.

If I remember correctly the vehicle requirements varies dependant on the council you are working within. For example some require all vehicles are no more than 5 years old. As this will affect your business model and set up cost it might be worth contacting your local council first to find out what the restrictions / requirements are?
