How to stop clothes shrinking?

Right here is the deal

I moved in to my own flat recently. The block has its own wash house with industrial washing machine and tumble dryer. I use these machines to do my washing but when they come out they all seem to have shrunk. Do any of you students know how to stop this?

Get your self a fat person that you can put them on for about 5 minutes after every wash

Don't use the dryer, let them dry naturally. It takes longer but they won't shrink.

what temps are you washing your clothes at? Dryers can shrink clothes too, can you alter the drying duration?

You washing / drying at too high a temprature, simple.

Wash at 30, dry naturally.

And wash less often.

Wash at a cooler temperature? I wash my clothes at 30 degrees and havn't had any problem with either shrinking or fading colour.

Use a lower temperature and don't use the tumble dryer. I'm 17 and even I know that

Indeed, shrunk my favourite jumper a few weeks ago but forgetting not to tumble dry it.

How do I purposely shrink some t-shirts? I have a bunch of high quality polo shirts that I want to be more fitted.
