How to tell true 1080p support?

I'm getting a P2450H for xmas and I just saw this review claiming..

during our tests with a Blu-ray player, the P2450H wasn’t able to display anything better than 1080i

How can one tell if a monitor can display 1080p?

Computer monitors are all progressive.
It's just that its video processing can't handle better when used for cleaning crappy source material. (in PCs that's all done before sending picture out)

As long as the resolution is 1920*1080 or even *1200 or higher then you'll be fine for 1080p BD playback.
