Hi guys,
The noise of the fan on my BFG 7600GT is so annoying, its really loud, is there anyway i can turn it down?
I would greatly appreciate a silent pc, and im pretty sure it would be if i somehow reduced the noise of the fan..

Cheers,
Jay

I cant see the fan tab
I just get the NVStrao Driver tab

My XFX 7600GT fan was pretty loud and also the card got pretty hot, so I changed to a Zalman VF900 cooler, it was £27 but it is so quiet and its dropped the temperatures 10 degrees from 45 to 35 idle and 50 odd to 40 odd during games.

You wont see the tab on a 7000 series only 8000 series.

You can see the fan settings (3 sliders I think) on other section, not sure if they do anything though.

I dont play games or anything, i just got the card thinking it would be alright/ support vista.

I just installed the latest drivers, and its loud when posting, but then goes quiet when it goes through the Vista welcome screen thing, and then goes back to loud when its fully loaded..

Is there ANY way i can slow down the speed, on the other hand, do i even need the fan running? I could just unplug it.. If i do this, is there a program where i can monitor the graphics card temps?

Cheers,
Jay

Thats correct, the fan is contoled by the Nvidia driver depending on TEMP, it will be full speed at boot up untill the Nvidia driver loads up, my 6800Ultra was same and the 8600GTS's I used for customers also.

Oh ok, now that i installed the new drivers, it is quieter.
More peaceful than before, for my new build, i might get a 8600, with silent heatpipes.
