Ive got a Biostar T-power
with a E8400
Geil Black Dragon ddr2 6400
4850

im trying to over clock the E8400 im currently at 3.4ghz and my ram is at 456mhz so overclocked from 400

the bios is abit different from the asus board i over clocked on before and i cant seam to find the option to unlock the ram?

is it just a case of changing the timings so the ram slows down?

any help would be create im still abit new to this, and this completly new bios with different terms is really catching me out

thanks

i thought ddr was only officaly able to do 800mhz ive had it running higher 423 per chip is that not right?
i slackened the timings to 5-5-5-20 where it says on the box it'll do 4-4-4-12

would a screen shot or 2 of cpu-z etc help? ill try and get a pic of the bios too its a American Megatrends one so abit new to me.

Im sure it must be me doing something wrong

You can OC your ram to run at faster speeds. as long as your stable and your not sticking crazy voltages though + temps keep pushing. no point buying ram that runs at 1066mhz if your ram will run at 1000 or atleast 900.
