How would you tackle a work nickname that you don't like?

You find the ring leader and talk down to them in such a way that they nearly cry. Then you go back to work.
 
How about not been a sensitive little dear and take the **** back etc ?

I can see OP been a outcast at work soon. All because of a nickname. By the way nicknames are very rarely flattering in the workplace ;)

Give as good as you get to whom ever gave it to you, sooner or later said person will tell you to quit it, when they do, tell em sure as long as you stop calling me xxxx as that annoys me as much as me calling you xxxx.

Could you be anymore condescending? I not a sensitive little dear. Just ****ed off. Cheers for your support mate, I'm sure your proud of your efforts.
 
Anyhow I was just venting..I kinda new I needed to ignore it or out do it. Tough when its my new manager. Tomorrow is another day.

I sympathise Rotters, but you do need to deal with it or it'll grind you down, trust me, & i say that as some one with a big nose whos had an aweful lot of pee taking come my way over the years, hell, my snoz is so big it enters the room half an hour before i do, in fact, it's so big i make Barry Manilow feel inadeqate.

Find a way to deal with it bud. ;)

Worst thing to do is show ANY kind of reaction. If its anything like my office that will make EVERYONE get involved to get a rise out of you for the lawlz.

Personally, I'd say unless your 28 stone and the nickname is 'tubs' you're probably in a good place having a nickname already. People doing that usually means they are at ease around you, thats a good sign....
 
Just pre-empt it and start dishing it out.

I used to get a lot of hassle from locals in a pub as batman until I always got the joke in first. That shut the nobs up!
 
simple solution, rotters.

just tell your manager you got your managers gf/wife to call you by your nickname last night.

if he can dish it out, it's good to see if they can take it.
 
just tell them you dont like it. ''i dont like that name lads''

it will either stop of they will laugh , if they laugh you reinstate the fact you dont like it and if required take it further

don't be unhappy because idiots tell you its 'normal'
