oweneades said:It certainly won't be smooth with full dynamic lights on well not unless you call a drop from 60fps to 15fps smooth. (edit just seen you have a GTX so its quite possibly its smooth, however its not on a GTS)
Anyway the problem I have with stalker is that the fps seems to jump about the place regardless of what is actually on the screen.
eg: My FPS at the beginning trader is normally 50fps however go out then go back in and its 18?! It makes no sense.
Also this happens occasionally when I look at blank walls, my fps plummets!

fastwunz said:well it kind of does make sense considering the rendering does have to compete with a lot more outside than when you are talking to the 'shop' guy inside.
Admiral Huddy said:Should be fine mate. Make sure you load the recent patches and the floatingpoint32 patch as well. The floatingpoint32 fix not only fixes a serious bug in Yantar but also improves the frame rate of the game. I've noticed a big difference in performance after installing this, so this will serve you good.
willhub said:Were do I get this floatingpoint32 fix from? looked up on google and it brings up nothing.

LoadsaMoney said:The hitching's normal as thats how Stalker is, it constantly loads new bits in as your playing (when the floppy icon appears), runs great for me maxed out 1280x1024 full dynamic lighting, my rigs all stock to, about 46-60fps with v-sync on, but it only drops to about 46 when it hitches to load, and thats only for split seconds at a time.
