Just received a call from a client on an 0161 code, Manchester. The line dropped and they called back, but this time on an 0207 number, London. Literally seconds later. That line dropped again about 3 times in quick succession, apparently flaky reception from a BT Home Hub.

How is this possible? Do/can BT Home Hubs have a second geographic number? I thought they were generally VOIP numbers that were something like 056...?

Any ideas?

At first I thought it might be a Skype number. But reading the BT VOIP pages it looks like you can have a number of geographical numbers on a BT Business Broadband line. That'll probably explain it. Very handy!
