1080p ok over wireless to my tablet and phone. But I have a smart TV that's on the network so I use the DS Video app\DS video station

edit=I think the new DS video app has chrome cast built in, so try that.

Update 2 is ready to install. I used the normal script and all went well

You mean the file to get the real mac addy and serial number?
gnoBoot picks up your real addy at boot and you only have to edit a file on the usb for serial. It's all here mate.

Oh and I don't use EXSI.

I don't see a reason to install one piece of software to install another.
I use gnoBoot and it works out the box. Also if you have a problem there is only the one install to deal with.

Update.

It seams we can't install the newest DS. We will have to wait for a work around or another version of gnoBoot.

First you have to pick which version you're going to use. gnoBoot is more up to date and you can upgrade\downgrade.

To install gnoBoot http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2152 but don't try to install DSM 5.0-4482.
get the one before of the synology ftp site. http://ukdl.synology.com/download/

As for iTunes I don't use it so it's turned off. The last part is a small script you run when DS says you have a update. It's documented here.

Again allways have a backup and DON'T try to install DSM 5.0-4482 just yet.

I tested for hearbleed at this site https://filippo.io/Heartbleed/ and it says all is ok. I do use No_ip ddns.

Something is deleting files after a reboot, they know what's getting deleted it's just what script is doing it.

I see a new version of nanoboot is out and you can install 4482. But I don't think it's up\down gradable
like gnoBoot. So I will wait till the new gnoBoot comes out.

Nanoboot is having driver problems, so I'm glad I never tried it.
If you want any drivers in the next gnoBoot then post here with a link to the Linux drivers.
