hp pavillion dv6000 wont turn on

hello everyone

went to turn my laptop on and notyhing happens the lights go on then go straight off again ,its driving me mad any help would be great

As long as you know you ac adapter is working fine, it will either be the motherboard or possibly CPU if an AMD version.

Does the fan spin up at all? Any beeps coming from the laptop? My first port of call with something like this would be to check that the CPU is seated correctly - locate it, remove from socket and plug back in again. As above, could also be a fault with the motherboard but I'd give this a go first.

There is a known issue with certain models of this laptop range and if the unit is less than 2 years old, may qualify for a HP warranty enhancement.

It may be an issue with the graphics chip if it's a nvidia g94 or similar. Get in touch with the point of sale if it's less than a few years old, they should really get it sorted if that's the issue as it's an inherent fault with these machines. That's if HP won't take care of it.

read a few articles now about faults in the ill be checking that out more its a fairley new laptop aswell hp rubbish
