Just a quick one - does anyone know whether the Warranty on HP switches covers accidental damage?
Came into the office this morning to find our Comm's cabinet had fallen from the wall (guessing the toggle bolts whoever mounted it with weren't good enough), and the switch mounted within the cabinet has 2 bent rack ears (easily straightened / replaced), but the power connector has been pushed backwards at an angle back into the casing.
Switch still works and if it was for home use I would have no problems with it, but in a work environment so health and safety potentially comes into it and for my peace of mind have decided it is not fit for use as is.
Model in question is a 3COM Officeconnect 3CDSG10PWR. I know in the past HP have been really good with replacing old 3COM kit that had "lifetime warranty" (normally with the equivalent current HP Model), but that is normally only for faults - not sure if they will replace damaged kit.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with HP warranties and damage?
