I ordered 16gb at 8.42, went striaght to received, I then went back and ordered a 32gb one (as I wanted the 32GB, was just in a panic when I ordered) at 8.55

8.42 order went to recieved instantly

8.55 is now on received after phone call to confirm address..

I am still not sure though as we have been told they will cancel all new accounts, it could be just the system being on auto?

Cheers for the info. I've got a feeling some people will be lucky, others unlucky with these PCWB orders.

Just got off the phone with PCWB and the system is apparently all over the place. They cannot tell if stock had been allocated or not even though payment has been taken.

According to the people I have spoken to you have not any guarantee of actually receiving a unit you have a deliver dispatch confirmation.

The e-mail should take no longer then 24hours but the volume and system problems means that it might take longer.

So figures crossed people.

Just goes to show how dire their systems are behind the scenes. Such a large business should be have more robust systems in my mind.

@ Grebbo

I need you, you are the expert there, I have just received a despatched email from PCWB? does that mean anything?

It means you are one of the lucky ones whose getting one.

Basically, until you get a despatched email, your order can say anything and still be cancelled.

Welcome to the HP Touchpad Owners Cluch (HTOC) :D

How come they did not cancel as we suspected? probably more work load than was worth it I suppose.

Guys..

I am going to post here as I dont have access to MM, I will ask Greebo to help as he seems very respected and trusted..

As some of you may know my Insight order which I paid £193 for arrived today, I am going to send it back on DSR, but just reading their terms I have to send a letter etc etc..

seems a hassle, could I ask one of you MM members to see if anyone wants it at cost, I will pay for postage as I would have to anyway to return it.. I know the rules are not in here but I dont have access to MM

for those of you not acquainted with dr pain, he likes to talk about things he has no clue about

Some did get cancelled, some didn;t. Seems no consistancy. There are people who ordered early and got a cancellation and other got theres.

Maybe they just did a lottery in the end?

Or perhaps down to the person manually processing the order?

From reading around it seems most of them who got cancelled were the ones who kept phoning up to chase their order..

No fury like a CS Rep scourned!

DSR is DSR and I doubt they can impose additional terms like "letters", in fact I'm sure they can't

Best read up on DSR to be sure.

I think you have to pay for return costs though. Not sure about that!
