HTC desire and tethering

I’ve just had my HTC desire back, the guys in the clan told me ages ago about tethering and how to do it but cant remember.

Could any1 explain how I get this to work?

Also what shall I ask my phone company about my bandwidth usage or something?

it's quite easy.
If you are on stock android then, given that you have installed HTC sync and everything on your PC then just plugin the USB and select tether/share internet on your phone or go into usb/sync settings and select from there.
You can also use "hotspot" function. Find it on the app list and setup the phone as a wireless router kinda.
