HTC Desire to have official Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) by June

Nah, not everyone has the upgrade bug when they have a piece of hardware that does the job well enough in the first place. I am sure there are many who will upgrade every refresh but to me the software is more important now and getting this upgrade will hopefully boost the usability of the phone to eek out another year of use before it's replaced.

Either that or I'll grab something new when the warranty is up on this thing since it's been replaced 3 times now. :)

First one had the the dreaded over heating motherboard, second one the usb/charging port came loose, and the last one had a broken headphone socket. :)

Lucky I am on T-Mobile business contract so I get free next day replacements while in warranty.

Thats pretty awful, I thought they were quite well made :(

So did I but I've gone through....3/4 now.

1) Screen Issues
2) Dodgy/broken volume toggle slider stuck in the minus position causing all manner of wierdness
3) Overheating issues
4) What I'm on now!

This is a phone that spends most of its life in my pocket in a protective pouch...hardly abused!

Maybe thats what you are doing wrong? My Desire has been dropped about 20 times, has a chip out of the screen, scratches and dents all over the brown bit around the screen and performs absolutely perfectly. And it still looks better than a Desire in a case. ;)
