HTC Desire Z passing under the radar?

Got one, its a beautiful bit of kit. So far my only complaint is that id rather they got rid of the 2 quick keys on the keyboard and just made the space bar bigger, other than that id happily recommend it to anyone.

Its nice but too heavy in my opinion. Wish they did the exact same phone without the keyboard and with a slightly bigger battery. Basically a refreshed desire. The HD is too big and has a battery that is way too small.

428 with 7 quid delivery on top. It's cost a lot but its was going to be 300 to buy out of my current contract.

What do you think of the keyboard and typing at speed? Also one review I read reported a minor niggle with the keyboard tray not feeling solid whilst closed causing the phone to rock slightly when held in the palm. Could you comment on this please?

If they did its would severly annoy the owners of the Desire as its would effectively mean that they were updating the Desires hardware only about 6 months after its initial release. Personally I like the weight, but the a personal preference.

Typing on it is fine, I wish the space bar was a bit wider, particularly to the right side of the keyboard but other than that its fine. and I can type on it faster than I can with the screen. The hardware keyboard also makes use of text prediction and spell checking so if you miss a key it usually corrects it to the right word for you anyways.

As for the rock, yes its there but I never noticed it until you told me to look for it. If you press the right side of the screen then its solid as its the side where the hinge is, but if you press on the left side of the screen then you get a very very slight rock off the screen. Personally I cant say its bothered me at all but it might bother other people, but then again when im using it ive got the keyboard open a lot of the time as even something like browsing the web is nicer with the keyboard IMO.

Did anyone else keep getting skin pinched between the screen and keyboard when you close the keyboard. It really put me off otherwise looked like quite a good bit of kit.

Thanks for the feedback on those issues, Stellios :) Doesn't seem like something the small rocking would really bother me but I'll still wait until I can actually get my hands on one and play before buying. Also I guess that the spacebar position is something that you will get used to fairly quickly.

Mine came with an 8GB class 2 samsung card. As for cables you get one micro USB cable and a USB wall adapter. Basically you get a plug to go itno the mains with a USB socket in it, so you can either plug the cable into the PC for charging/data transfer or plug it into the plug for charging.

My HTC Hero has had to go back to orange 4 times now, i'd love to be able to upgrade to the Desire Z! I can't afford it right now I don't think. I'd love to hear more from anyone that has upgraded to this device from another Android device, and the differences / updates it gives.

Of course, it's going to be faster than a HTC hero,.. anything else?
