HTC Sensation/HTC Sensation XE?/iPhone 4?

T-mob seem to be the only network I can get half decent signal where I live. I would get the iPhone 4 but I'm thinking how it'll compare in a years time. 4S is just to expensive.

Your other option would be Orange because it would roam onto the t-mobile network if you did'nt have signal.

I recently upgraded to the Sensation XE after my Desire went FUBAR. At the moment it feels pretty slick, it doesn't have the android crashes as much as my desire, and yeah, it works pretty well. It's also nowhere near as big as the Nexus or other phones, which is a plus in my mind. Battery life seems pretty good, but not great. I still charge it nightly because otherwise the second day of use can be pushing it a bit.

Saying that, if my Desire is anything to go by, the updates won't be particularly well optimised by HTC. From my experience, Apple are much much better at making sure that updates are going to run smoothly on their tech that is already out, and if it's going to cause you to lose some experience you won't get it. HTC seem to just focus on the next thing along. To be honest, after a year of having a Desire and the software updates causing so many issues I wouldn't be surprised if I have the same issue with my XE in a years time.

If it was up to me, I'd probably get the iPhone 4. Hell if I'd been able to upgrade to an iPhone 4 over the XE then I would have done, whilst the XE is a slick phone at the moment, I'm not quite sure it'll be that way in 6 months time...

Why do you 'have' to do that?

You can just cancel it and get a new number from them (via third party as above), starting a fresh.

I have a sim only line taken out with t-mobile aswell, for my works phone and that's got another 6 months or so to run.

Cheers

Because Foxy, my sensation has terrible signal. I was just offered the 4s free, 1100 minutes, unlimited texts, 1gb data, unlimited o2 to o2 calls and 50 mms a month for £37.

I didn't think that was a bad deal?

What makes you think an iPhone will have a fantastic signal? Seems like a locality thing.

Apple deliberately cripple the key features of their latest handsets on iOS versions for older handsets for marketing reasons - I can't think of any that have been removed to make it 'run smoothly' (MMS, video recording, Siri, Facetime etc. etc.). In fact Apple are one of the worst when it comes to newer OS releases slowing down older handsets.

My desire used to have acceptable signal inside the house and pretty much perfect signal if I went out and sat in the car. This phone I have to be sat in the car, with my head out of the window to achieve the same effect.

I've decided this evening no matter how good the deal - I don't want 24 months contract so I guess I'm stuck with this thing with its poor signal and about 7 dead pixels

At least they do release proper updates though.

Siri is a very good example of what you've said above, but it's hardly a surprise they left it out.

Given its design, the Sensation signal can be a bit iffy for some people. The iPhone 4 can too but the 4S has fixed this.

A good example of Apple deliberately crippling 'key' features of the latest OS? Yes, we agree then. It ran fine on the iPhone 3G before Apple bought the company that wrote it!

You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Its amazing how Apple fans just seem to think iStuff is better because the Apple adverts say they are.

Apples marketing seems to have subliminally brainwashed millions of people into paying more for less hardware... They've been trying to do this for decades but only now they seem to have cracked it on a massive scale.
