Bravo:

Bravo: Now this is what we're talking about -- HTC finally marries Android with Snapdragon to make the device we suspect that many of us are going to be lusting for in 2010. It's got DivX support, 720p video capture through a 5 megapixel AF cam with flash, a mighty 3.7-inch AMOLED display, and that Qualcomm Snapdragon humming along at 1GHz. If all goes well, we should start to see this (hopefully everywhere) in April.

I thought you said you weren't going to upgrade until a phone has tv out and can play HD content?

I guess you've not read the Bravo's specs then.

I mainly wanted 720P recording, TV out is a bonus since my 13" notebook has HDMI out but the fact that I can simply copy over a HD video and play it on screen is all that I;d be after.

I'll still have like a year left on my existing contract so it may well turn out to be a costed upgrade!

At least it won't be stamped with a Vodafone logo on the shell though :p

Bravo for me too, like the Tera but 600mhz may just be too weedy. Contract ends in July so price of Bravo should have fallen a bit too! Is this all the phones HTC will be releasing or is this for the first half of the year?

Okay so now the "waaaah i want Android on my HD2" people, can shut up now :p

I wonder why there's STILL no mention of Tegra!

HTC are really bringing phones out fast. The current large manufacturers must be seriously worried.

Thanks to Android mainly I’d say, it’s allowed them to appeal to a wider market as they relied on WinMo previously.

I think the advent of touch screen tech and faster processors is the main reason why smart phones like this appeal to more people. I know a lot of people thinking of buying the HD2 which isn't android. Also, Apple's marketing campaign to bring the aforementioned technology to the mainstream has helped HTC.

Android.

meh....

Looks like Android is the way forward though until Microsoft can get WM7 out.

Tried it on the Magic, didnt do anything for me and certainly dunno what the fuss is about. The lack of Bluetooth transfer is shocking, so I'm back on my TouchHD and much happier. I'm in the minority though obviously.

Guess I'll be buying the HD2 looking at whats coming on the radar.

Annoying!

In Bravo's favour: Android. AMOLED screen. Bigger battery.
In HD2's favour: 0.6" bigger screen. More RAM. Available now.

720p means nawt to me personally, but then I also cannot be bothered with waiting until April, as I am looking to sell my Touch Pro2 now and get the HD2.

GAH!!!

Nice specs but after having the Magic and getting pretty much bored of that within a few weeks...i think ill give Android a miss tbqh.

This phone does look good...wonder if its capacitive or resistive??...interesting that it has 720p capture and the 1ghz cpu is pretty beefy...although makes me wonder what the battery life is like.

Anyhow think ill stick with BB's for the time being...they fit my needs quite nicely having both the Storm2 and 9700 Bold2.

What made you get bored of android? what other phone OSes offer more flexibility, intergration with web services and customisation via the XDADevs channel community than HTC based Android devices?

I suppose one could get bored being stuck on a stock rom but once rooted the phones are only limited by the Android version!

I mean, in the last few months/weeks alone we've collectively cooked up new features in Android phones that would otherwise never have been released and unlocked hidden performance to boot.

Only heard of android and certainly don't know anything else about it other than lots of hype and it being an OS :p

Looks good though, and my unused Touch Diamond needs to be sold asap with my renewal in early march. A pity though, but going onto simplicity then taking out a new contract with one of these could be the plan, but it all depends on the retentions deal from O2. Getting a nicer handset to sell or get credit back for not taking one, then put towards one of these on Pay+Go could be the plan.

Still happy with my samsung E900 as it calls, texts, and lets me check the footie scores :D

DO WANT NAO!!

But seriously, this is made my mind up on not taking up a Hero contract, will switch to Simplicity and wait till it's released!

xD
