After redoing my home tv set up its time to ditch the aging dell optiplex 755 and build something more modern...

Im liking the streacom FC5Evo passive cooled case...

As far as internals go, i was thinking this list, but as this is my first build ill listen to comments if you think theres glaring mistakes.

Asus A88XM-Plus Motherboard

AMD A10-6700 CPU (went for the 6700 as its 65W)

16GB DDR 2133mhz ram (which make would be suitable, needs to be low profile according to the case manufacturer)

4tb HDD for storage (any specificially good value or better quality etc)

120GB SSD for OS

I also want a basic slim slot loading DVD drive/burner....

Whats the opinions? Would it all be ok together?

I picked the A10-5700 over the 6700 as I've owned both & there is no real world difference. a few quid saved.
The Gigabyte board has a optical digital output, you may find that useful & its the same price as the Asus.
High speed ram, no point in a HTPC unless you plan on playing a few games with it.

I'm in the market for a large capacity HD, I've used WD hard drives for years so the cheapest 4TB they make, I'd suggest getting two though as you may want to backup. 4TB of media is a lot to lose.

No idea if the slot loading blu-ray drive will fit that case.

I think the case & PSU are expensive for an HTPC TBH, I suggest this as alternative but you will only be able to fit one drive in there. PSU is included.
