I've just upgraded my HTPC to Windows 7 from Windows XP. For some reason now when i run the resolution at the native res of my LCD TV (JVC LT-37DS6 1366 x 768) the refresh rate in Windows defaults to "30Hz interlaced" and will not present me options for 50Hz or 60Hz.
I'm sure when i was running WinXP that it was set at 1366 x 768 @ 60Hz. I think at the time i'd had to add a custom res using Powerstrip but it worked easily enough. At the time i was using the Omega ATI drivers.
I've managed to add the resolutions fine to Windows using an ATI custom res tool and using powerstrip, but it doesn't seem to let me select any refresh higher than 60Hz (and work)
My question is, does this matter? Is this a limitation of my TV or is there something funny going on with the drivers? any alternatives i can try?
The LCD TV is a 1080i / 720p model but i want to avoid any problems with my HTPC. Using a Radeon 3450 HD graphics card with latest v12.6 drivers and Catylst Control centre from ATI. I've tried different cables as well, and it's a DVI output from graphics card into HDMI on the TV. VGA isn't an option as it won't support for full res of the TV
