Humax Freesat HD Recorder - Ethernet use

I've had a Humax Freesat HDR box since last Christmas...
It has an ethernet port on the back but there was no support for it via the menus until the latest firmware update a few days ago...

I can now set IP, subnet mask, DNS etc of the box and PING it from a machine in the house. Can't map a network drive to the box either (Says it doesn't exist).

Does anyone know of any use at the moment for this? Can't seem to find anything on the Humax website.

I think the ethernet port is there so the Freesat box can provide interactive services quicker by using the internet.
