What would you go for? I rarely travel further than 50 miles so comfort is not an issue. Assume both bikes are new.

Husky:
Slightly better looks
Lighter
'Probably' handles better
Better quality due to higher price tag? Unknown..

Aprilia:
More powerful
Less likely to be stolen by chavs than the husky
Sounds better, especially with a/m cans
Quite a bit cheaper
Looks more comfortable
I have an aprilia distributer round the corner, closest husky dealer is about 3 hours away

The husky has 6k service intervals, not sure about the aprilia..

The dorsoduro will be quite a bit heavier than the husky. Don't buy a new dorso, it'll plummett in value as soon as you roll it out the door. Edit: saying that looks like you can pick up a new one for under £6k, so if buying new definitely don't pay full price :D

What about the dorsoduro 1200? 130bhp vs 95bhp

You need to get test rides as they will be very different bikes to ride despite looking a little similar. Heavy v-twin naked with supermoto handling vs a single cylinder 'soft' proper supermoto.

Yeah I'd seen the lower price of the dorso, I don't tend to do many miles so I think the smaller bike would be more appropriate. I've got a test ride booked on a husky in a few weeks but then came across the what seems rather unpopular dorso and wondered if I was missing something.

I used to ride motox so I'm expecting to like the husky as long as it doesn't just want to wheelie all the time!
