I'm toying with going water again but in the smallest of cases that conveniently doesnt have a pair of 120mm fan mounts only 80mm at the back.

Can anyone tell me what the performance of the HWLabs Black ICE GT Xtreme Micro M160 80mm Double Radiator compares to 120.2 rads
 
Just think of the area. 80x2 = 160 square millimeters
120x2 = 240 square millimeters.

So the 80mm is likely to be at best 2/3 of the performance.

But, it's not that simple. With two 80mm fans the fans' dead spots take up a bigger percentage of the area than with two 120mm fans. Then 80mm fans will need more noise to achieve the same airflow as the two 120mm fans.

etc. etc.

Lots of reasons why 80mm rads have never really taken off.

Now, as for your case forcing you to do this. I used to use an old Lian-Li PC60 which had an 80mm at the back. So I cut two small holes to allow the pipes to go out the back and then used a Swiftech Radbox to connect a 120.1 radiator with a 120.1 fan on the back of the case. Job done.
 
I want to avoid external rads etc otherwise I would have gone with a reserator or something like cape cora tubes.

Im assuming the 80x2 rad would be plenty as it will be dealing with no more than 130-150 watts load and most people get good temps on a 120x2 with an i7 at 4ghz which produces closer to 260-270 watts
 
Do you not have a 120mm fan anywhere? How about the intake at the front? I know it may seem a bit silly, but a descent 120mm rad in push+pull (even mounted at the front of the case) would be adequate for watercooling a CPU! (but probably not much else)
 
There is a 120mm fan mount at the front but I'm not sure if there is room for rad and fan in there although I might be able to have the rad mounted internally then the rad between the case and front panel but ill have to have a measure.

I really could do with some figures as this is more for silence that extra overclocking headroom

EDIT: Further googling has lead me to discover that the single fan version of the rad can handle ~100w load so assuming this doubles up but adding in a 20% for scaling it should easily handle ~180 watts

It may be able to handle 100W but with what fan? Remember that manufacturers want to show a maximum number which may have been with a Delta or something.
