Here we go again. It's the "Twelfth week" here in Northern Ireland and as the Orange Order prepare to march, chaos always seems to make its way to this area. I was out for a walk earlier and ended up in the middle of a riot with the police and army (mostly kids) and was almost taken out by a hijacked bus. Some more kids have decided to make their own bonfire on the railway lines to stop the trains tomorrow.

I predict two bomb alerts, four shooting incidents and another couple of riots by the end of Thursday. I think I'll just sit in the house, this sucks.

I should have spent this week off in England.

What a ludicrous way to behave.

It seems now (and has for a long time) its "any excuse for a riot" and of course all of the bickering and violence takes away attention from the roaring drugs trade the instigators of it all arereally interested in.

Indeed. All the rioters and troublemakers are kids, the paramilitaries from both sides don't seem to bother with that any more. I think they send the kids out to keep the police busy whilst they get on with selling drugs.

Also, in the estate over the way we've had the Loyalist paramilitaries bickering with each other after too much drink at their 12th July bonfire. They've been firing their guns in a 'show of strength' all night, trying ot outdo each other by firing bigger and louder guns. I hope they shoot one another and leave everyone else in peace.

Damn, was looking up on stuff about NI and i still cant work it all out but yah.Its pretty mad by the sounds of it. The guy i worl with goes over every year for the walk for the hell of it :(

so basically its a bunch of young thugs that not only are absent of any politicle motive but blatently just use the date as an excuse to trash the area ?

nice, idiots. Stay in doors my friend.

Not that much better here in Glasgow either. Seems to be a high number of NI "exiles" have decided to make it their home due to the obvious links as well. :(

all quiet so far here in dublin, thankfully...

...just hoping there is no repeat of the riot the idiots had on o'connel street (main street in dublin) earlier in the year...

Its rather peaceful up here in Ligoneil, everyone buggered off home at about 2 - 3 am when the fire died down, and then seemed to get up again at 7am to get ready for the band going past.

They went past about 20 mins ago, and again its deserted.

All the same, I'm not going anywhere today , while the bands themselves are ok in my opinion, its a certain bunch of idiots that tags along with them that ruin all the fun. Theres not need to nick cars, hijack busses, or raom about looking for a fight, that just ruins it. :(

Edit: Just realised, I should have took the camera out and took a few pictures of the band. Yay for hindsight.

several roads closed here in the 'Pool, but that's just so they can all march to the train station then onto Southport where it will take place. They're marching twice today once at 10 and again at 4ish.

It's usually pretty peaceful over here and the parade tends to go off without incident.

I've just heard the bands marching past near here on thier way to the rail station to go to Southport for the day where they will get very, very drunk.at least it will all be over by tomorrow here

you must be quite near where I am (at work) :D Near the Strand.

The orange walk has been marching around my area aswell. Bloody *******.

It should be banned for good tbh. Nothing but useless trouble markers, nearly 99% have never been religious, or even picked up a bible in their life, yet they take part in a so called "celebration". It's a bloody nightmare.

I could go on all day, and say very nasty things, but I won't, I'll probably get in trouble :p

Ireland should be Ireland, there shouldn't be any NI about it.

Yea they've bought all of that idiocy into Scotland now haven't they, my pal from up there was telling me. Something like "Fenions" etc. It's even infiltrated football, rangers is christian celtic is protestant or something?

protestant is a denomination of christian.

I think the word you're looking for might be Catholic ;)

Other way around mate :)

...and yes, if you support, or wear a celtic top, you'll be classed as a "fenion", a Catholic. It's very bad, and it's all....because of them! You seem them all following the marches with they're Rangers football club tops on, and they're just people you would never want to associate with. Most, if not all of them are trouble making idiots...and I guarantee none of them have ever wen't to church or picked up a bible ;)

I'm not a religious person, never have been, but I'm extremely sick and tired of these people.
