Okay so despite the fact that in my opinion I should be given a further discount for already having bought Ep1 and HL2, I went ahead and bought the Orange Box 
I saw portal on the xbox 360 yesterday and that just pushed me over the edge - although I chose to buy it on PC because I think TF2 will be much better on PC than 360
Plus there's the whole mod thing on PC and I'm a lot better with mouse & keyboard than I am with a gamepad.
A bit of trouble with payment - paypal took my money, steam tried to process the transaction, then gave me an error saying something along the lines of "It broke. Sorry."
But literally 45 seconds later I have the games in my account, so it's all good and faith in steam is restored
