i got a call today...

i got a call today from an unknown caller on my mobile which i usually don't answer but was expecting a call from a customer for my house cleaning companyso i did answer. It straight away started ringing somewhere else, and it was a bad ringing noise, don't know if this is common but it was like it was calling a foren country or something, somwehre miles away. I decided to hang up quick but im wondering does this sound like what i think it is? when i answer it rings like a really expensive calling place and i get charge like £100 per minute?

if so this is a warning to you all out there, hang up if you hear it ringing somewhere else

if you hung up pretty sharpish you should be ok. If it was still ringing im not sure your connected and being charged . I think, unless it was jus a bad recording of ringing tone.

I dont see how a phone company could legally make you pay for a call if it was made in that way. It does sound rather dodgy though, I think Ive had a few calls which sound like what yours aswell.

sounds like some scammers trying to use your phone to forward calls to somewhere else :S

If you do get charged contact your network and explain what happened, they might/should refund you the cost.

Sounds like someone playing a prank using the web-activated telephony thing from www.jajah.com... it could've been worse, they could've made the calls at 4am!
