Its a much older model a Panasonic CF-18 superb battery life. I got it dirt cheap. I originally bought this laptop for something to play about with TinyCore Linux but when it arrived, I found it has good old Windows XP installed loaded with all the drivers plus hundreds of pounds worth of software and I thought there is noway I'm going to format this drive. The first thing I want to do is make a back up copy or clone the hard drive so that if it ever failed I've still got everything.
This laptop is perfect for my Ham Radio hobby and programing older Motorola/Tait transceivers plus Beofengs, its got the right speeds for what I need. I do need to find some machine screws to attach the carry harness it came with.
Its got 512MB RAM which is upgradable to 1.5 GB RAM I believe I need a Samsung DDR2 1GB stick 5300s-555. The CF-18 is very fussy when it comes to RAM so it has to be a specific type.
Its a great little machine and I'm quite chuffed with it.
I do have a couple of questions...
What would be the best way to make a backup copy /or clone the hard drive of this machine?
What size machine screws do I need to attach the carry harness/handle?
