I had heard about eating placenta but...

So im speaking to a friend online and asked her about her kid and how the birth was and then cheekly said 'i hope you didnt eat your placenta!' and she said no thankgod... but i googled it and found THIS

Im going to be so carful next time i eat at anyones house if they have a new born, dont want to be eating out of date (3+ days) placenta do i!

Placenta Cocktail
Ingredients:

1/4 cup fresh, raw placenta
8oz V-8 juice
2 ice cubes
1/2 cup carrot

Method: blend at high speed for 10 seconds. Serve. A tasty thirst quencher!

But saying that, I don't tend to see what a lot of the meat products I eat really look like, so I'd agree that there isn't that much difference.
