I have a Thermos flask filled with liquid nitrogen.

The bulb would shatter... very hot thing + very cold thing = excessive contraction of the hot thing = shattering glass.

Some quick googling suggests:

Freeze a can of shaving cream and then peel the can away from the cream. Put the canless cream into someone's car. Let the oven-like heat from the car's sitting in the sun defrost the shaving cream. 2 cans will fill an entire car.

Would the same thing work with a can of that gap filler stuff... "No more gaps" or whatever its called?

Has the OP survived the night?
The trouble with liquid nitrogen is that it expands to 85 times it's volume when reverting back to gas, so 2lt will give you quite a blanket of Nitrogen which will reduce the oxygen content of a room.

More like 900 times its volume

If you happen to have a high temperature superconductor**, you can freeze it with liquid nitrogen and float a magnet on top* - make your own maglev train!

*I have done that, it was cool.

** I think it was YBCO - Yttrium-Barium-Copper-Oxide http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YBCO

Here is mine :)
