Well, I had been suffering from horrendous temps on my Core 2 duo E6400 with my Artic cooling freezer pro 7. So, I decided to ditch it and go for something that most online reviews concluded as 'great'.

When it arrived the sheer size of it made me question whether it would fit in my case, but I can quite comfortably say it got in there no problems. I also ordered a 120mm fan to go with it and attached it to the cooler. When I loaded up my pc my cpu was idling at 39C as opposed to 52 with the old cooler! That is pretty big improvement! But wait, it doesn't stop there, I then proceeded to overclock my cpu to 2.7Ghz and it only went up only by 1C! (40C)! I was shocked and amazed. Under load, it sometimes creeps up to 43 but never higher. To say the least I am very impressed. There is a lot of room for more overclocking, but I am very happy with my overclock so far.

My whole pc is now a lot quieter despite it having a huge 120mm fan strapped on the cooler. I could probably have better temps, but my case isn't the greatest of places for airflow.

So all in all very pleased and is definitely worth the money. Just be warned that the cooler is very heavy on top of the cpu and can very possibly fall off or maybe crush the cpu - so handle with care and ensure the screws are tightened securely.

:p

Sorry to hear that but at least you got rid of that thing and now have a quality heatsink! :)

I keep telling people not to buy an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro and I keep getting mobbed by Freezer7 Pro fan boys :D

At least there is now another user who has made the jump from the ACF7-Pro to the TRUE and can appreciate the difference

Yep i get same reaction too. :) I gunna upset them some more with this comment; tested out Freezer Pro 7 versus Akasa AK-965 and the latter could keep temps down much better mounted on E6600 and E2200. :p

I've got one of these too... got to say its big but it gives excellent temps :)

It knocked a good 5c since my Tuniq Tower.
