I've just had a great night go-karting for a friend's birthday, however, someone has reversed into my mk2 Focus putting a big dent in the rear panel (drivers side) and then drove off. :(

I will phone the karting place on monday but there is no chance there was CCTV there as it is like an industrial park.

I think the dent will pop back out but at the edge the metal has torn slightly. The worst thing is there was wipe marks were they have got out and had a look at the damage.

I know I'm angry but as I have no idea who the culprit was I feel rather upset and miserable. I can't claim on my insurance as my excess is huge (I'm only 20) and I don't want to lose the 2 years NCB that I have tried so hard to save up.

This has really put me off changing my car and getting something special as I would feel even worse. There are some complete and utter ***** out there, I would have at least left a note or went in there to find who's car it was. It was more than likely one of the group who left before we started karting. It is a real PITA as I always park my car defensively and tonight was no exception; they must have been terrible drivers to manage to reverse into it.

There is no point me getting too worked up about it because I can't do anything about it. I will get some pictures of the damage up tomorrow as I can't work out too much right now as it is pitch black outside.

Grrr just needed to vent, please make me feel better and reassure me I shouldnt just grease over it and become someone who doesn't give a flying **** about what they drive! lol

it's horrible isn't it, where i work it has happened to me three times now, twice on my old mondy (which i wasn't that arsed about after the 2nd time lol), but last week, someone with a tow hook has reversed into my front bumper leaving a ball shape right next to the alu trim next to the number plate. Not that noticeable if you're not looking but annoying as hell because i know it's there.

I cant see how you can avoid claiming if you want it fixed, this is the most expensive panel on the car to replace as it doesnt simply bolt on.

Filler.....lots and lots of filler ;):p

Last year a lorry driver was delivering something for someone at the end of my road and my car was parking on the road (half on, half off). He couldn't get through so ended up hitting my rear driver side panel doing £600 worth of damage.

No note or anything it was only a week later when chatting to someone they said they saw the whole thing. The company at first refused to respond, they said they had interviewed the driver and there was no proof it was them. Then I meantioned the witness and got a cheque a few days later.

Made me so mad as the company must have known, but denied it all. The driver could have asked me or the other car on the road to move (he took her wing mirror off as well) but he just drove off.

Fox is also right if you want it fixed it'll cost a lot as it's usually a whole large panel.

The damage to my car: (can't really see it that well, the whole panel is dented in a bit and thats after hours of t-cutting.)
