I know im a little late playing this one, but i cant help but feel as if this game has been really overhyped. Its an ok game don't get me wrong, but not mind blowing like most people say. should i even bother with bioshock 2?

I didn't find it 'mind blowing' nor did i expect it to be - it was just a really good, enjoyable game.
Bioshock 2 isnt due to be out until 2010.. maybe you'll have a better idea nearer the time.

I got about the length of the demo into the game, then got bored.
I've not bothered going back to play it yet - just can't find the time or the interest to do so.

My brother played this, but got quite hacked off when he couldnt find a rocket launcher or something which then made it impossible for him to progress any further lol

The game got really boring really fast and it a pity too because i think it has one of the best intro of all time :(

Yep.....

One of those games that relies on a lot of backtracking.....one of my pet hates in games, to make it seem a bigger game than it really is....

Appaling in game map, making difficult to know where to go next or where you had just come from...

Also it has a really bad 5.1 audio mix and kept insisting on giving you information in the middle of other audio 'events' which meant they were just about impossible to hear what is being said....

I loved Bioshock, up until the end. The boss fight was pathetic and i'd have hoped the endings would have had as much depth as the story.

Finally got around to playing and completing it last month. Was a much better game than i originally thought. The audio tapes you pick up really make the game if you listen to them.

But yea, the ending boss was rubbish. As was the actual ending itself.

i liked the story and atmosphere, but i found it way too easy even on the harder settings, i was constantly full on ammo and money. most of the plasmids were useless later on in the game, i mean what's the point shooting bees at people when i can hit them with my wrench which freezes them, recovers my hp and in some most cases kills in one or two hits.

Heh yeah the wrench monkey build was kinda crazy and all you needed to breeze through the game later on :S

I enjoyed it personally tho it felt a bit hollow compared to the game it could have been before it got cut for console :(

i wouldn't say it was a rubbish game, but after 2 hours of playing it i never returned to it

was just to dull and slow for me

Yeh i was exactly the same. Good game but i was expecting better TBH. Truth be told no game has blown me away since knights of the old republic.

It was a good game but massively overhyped by the console players. Thing is, games like System Shock and Deus Ex were doing the same thing, better, 10 years ago.

Games which are labelled 'ground breaking', 'must play' etc etc, are no different to any other game, in so much as some people will agree, and others won't necessarily get what it is that all those in agreement are seeing.

For me, I did think it was everything it was labelled as. It was very different, and I loved the period setting. Blew me away, as it did most people I think.

But each to their own, as is always the case...

Thought it was a repetitive pos. The only redeeming feature was the top notch story towards the end. I was expecting a scary RPG and got neither.

Bioshock - they release a STUNNING demo and enrty sequece. The plane crash and emerging from the water goes down as one of my all time favourite moments. After that its all MEH.

Dragged in by the demo and utterly ruined by the rest of the game. The graphics were no where enar as good after the opening sequence and remained pretty stale throughout.
