Is there a difference between them and, say, the GE ones that are around £8 each!?
Quite possibly.
Not all LED bulbs are the same. Many will flicker perceptibly, many more won’t be dimmable, and others have poor quality light (missing certain frequencies*, much like fluorescents). There’s also variable life spans and warranty to consider alongside wattage. The higher the wattage, CRI, and warranty, the higher the price.
LEDs are just as much a minefield as flowscent bulbs and it’s worth looking at the specs properly, and looking at proper reviews if you’re planning on buying a few.
Without that there’s no way to really tell if the poundland/screwfix ones are actually the same quality as the one in the OP or the specific GE bulbs you’re talking about (most manufacturers have varying levels of quality/priced LED bulbs).
The one in the OP could be a high CRI, dimmable, low flicker bulb with a 20 year lifespan and equally long warranty.
Some people don’t care, some people do. And just because something is more expensive doesn’t mean it’s better, as usual, but generally there is a trend with electronic items...
*not to be confused with temperature, which is another minefield - just because it says it on the box doesn’t mean it’s actually that temperature.
