I just realised

GD destroyed my life. A warning to the new uns, stay out of GD at the very least... You'll never escape otherwise.... I should be revising right now...

That's a little bit creepy.

I lurked for a while and joined after I bought the 2500+ and NF7S, think I bought a silver coolermaster case at the same time. Edit : Or at least I think anyway. I certainly lurked for a bit, and I certainly bought that stuff.

Hello forum brother! :P

2500+ and an Abit motherboard was the only option at the time. I skimped on the case and bought an el-cheapo Chinese handcutter.

I suppose it's the British aspect that has kept me here. Most big forums tend to be USA-centric, and smaller British forums just aren't run to the same standard.

I'm not going to lie, there's plenty I don't like about this place (particularly the trend towards aggressiveness and put-downs, as time goes on), but overall it's still a decent forum.

That's a fair point Emlyn, everybody was buying the same board and CPU... not long after that we all went mental for Opterons :)

I actually like the put downs, what I don't like is the Daily Mail bile that people spit, and I don't like having a discussion with someone when I'm interested in learning something, and they're interested in winning an argument regardless if they'r wrong or not.

You do come out with some crushing put downs too... so I don't know that you can really complain about that.

GD is fun for the first 6 months but after that it gets weary quickly, I very rarely post in here these days and the my posting rate is a lot lower than it was when I joined. The first 6-7k was probably in the first 2 years.

Focus on quality these days rather than quantity ;)

I signed up some time between the last two nukes (when ever that was).

I wasn't here for the second to last, but was here for the last nuke.

Seem to remember being annoyed that I had just got to two or three thousand posts and then the forums went bye-bye.

Seems like forever ago.

I wonder how much more productive my life would be/have been without OcUK.
